Terms of Service

By accessing or using TypeForge ("the Service"), you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are under 18, you are not permitted to use this Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, guest users, and registered account holders.

TypeForge is a web-based typing practice platform. It provides guided typing lessons, speed tests, race mode, weak-key drills, and performance analytics to help users improve their keyboard typing skills. The Service is offered free of charge (or as otherwise stated at time of use).

If you register for an account, you are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Ensuring that any minor using your account does so with your supervision and permission.
• Providing accurate information during registration.

You may use TypeForge as a guest without creating an account. Guest progress is stored only in your browser's local storage.

You agree to use TypeForge only for its intended purpose. The following are prohibited:

• Automated bots or scripts — using bots, scripts, or automated tools to artificially inflate WPM scores, manipulate race results, or otherwise misrepresent performance.
• Scraping — systematically scraping, crawling, or harvesting content or data from the Service without written permission.
• Abuse — attempting to hack, reverse-engineer, overload, or otherwise disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Misrepresentation — impersonating another user or person.
• Any use that violates applicable local, national, or international law.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

All content, design, code, and materials on TypeForge — including lesson text, UI design, and branding — are the property of TypeForge and its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission.

Your typing performance data belongs to you. See our Privacy Policy for details on how it is handled.

TypeForge is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• That the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
• Any specific improvement in typing speed, accuracy, or other outcomes from using the Service.
• That all content is accurate, complete, or up to date.

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TypeForge and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $0 if you have not paid anything).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to TypeForge at any time, with or without notice, for any reason — including violation of these Terms. You may also stop using the Service at any time. If you have a registered account, you may request deletion of your account and data by contacting support@typeforge.app.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia, Canada.
